The installation of ServerObserver is easy and intuitive. You can put the program files anywhere you want them.
Once you have the program installed I suggest you go to the "Getting Started" section of the Help file. There you will find that ServerObserver is really easy to get up and running. There is more good news ServerObserver can be customized so that it will do the server monitoring job that is best for you.
This is one cool program. ServerObserver will monitor the services on multiple servers at the same time. ServerObserver can be customized in a whole bunch of ways. You can monitor different services on different servers. You can setup custom alerts and notification.
You are really going to like the alert notification options. Especially if you ever want to leave the room. ServerObserver will even SMS you a text message. Neat really neat.

 ServerObserver can monitor your servers working on any operating systems if you only inform it of your servers and your concerns. ServerObserver periodically monitors web servers(HTTP, HTTPS), mail servers(POP3, SMTP), directories(LDAP), databases(Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, ORACLE), domain name systems(DNS), file servers(FTP), and any TCP port of any server as well as inquire out a server alive(PING).
You can specify the tolerance limit of the round-trip time(RTT) in the normal state. ServerObserver sends a request and measures the RTT, and notifies you if the RTT exceeds the limit. You can detect whether a web page is modified. ServerObserver compares the current content of the page specified by a URL with the content acquired in the last monitoring. You can observe the performance of Windows servers. ServerObserver investigates the CPU usage, the disk usage, and event logs. It can find whether a process is running as well.
Notification : You can instruct the ServerObserver to inform you of notable situations (such as no response, the excess of RTT(or CPU usage or disk usage), the detection of modified pages, the recovery from other notable situation) by sending an e-mail, showing a popup window message, performing a VB script, executing an external application, and/or play a sound. You can ask the ServerObserver for sending an SMS message on your mobile phone and pager.
Reporting : Reports come to your hand! The report wizard of ServerObserver generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports on monitoring results. You can choose the type of report among HTML text, MS Word and MS PowerPoint document.
